Acupuncture & Holistic Medicine For Inquisitive Health Care Professionals (7 hrs / 7 CEU Points)

This is one day seminar that provides 7 CEU points for nurses and TCM practitioners (approved by NCCAOM and AHNA). It also can be interesting for the general public.

The purpose of this program is to enable the learner to explore holistic and Chinese views of healthcare and to discover how western and eastern practitioners can work together towards the common purpose of helping patients attain better health.

Join us for a journey to ancient times to understand the medical principles of holistic medicine and how these principles can be applied to patients who are not responding well to western medical treatments. Learn the basic philosophical medical principles of Chinese medicine (Qi, Yin/Yang, and Five Elements) and experience a physical feeling of Qi by participating in a Qi Gong exercise.

We will enter the world of physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional realms of the human body to understand their interconnectedness. Let’s learn together why our food choices, quality of rest, sleep habits, and amount of work and exercise are crucially important for overall health.

Principles Of Wu Xing 5 Element/Phases (3 hrs)

An explanation of holistic and symptomatic medical approaches will be explored. Students will receive a detailed explanation of Qi and Yin/Yang Theory while concentrating on the Wu Xing 5 Element/Phases. Comprehension of the synergistic relationship of western and eastern medical approaches will be discussed. Emphasis will be made on the synergistic application of the relationship of western and eastern medicine and application of this information to personal and professional purpose.

Introduction To Acupuncture And Holistic Medicine (2 hrs)

During this seminar, students will learn the differences between Holistic and Symptomatic, as well as Allopathic and Homeopathic medical approaches and the basic theories behind Chinese medicine. Students will obtain an understanding of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle through the synergy of these principles. Practical advice of how to apply these principals to medical and personal use will be provided.

The Dynamics Of Yin & Yang (3 hrs)

The difference in holistic and symptomatic medical approaches will be explained. Students will acquire knowledge as to the duality of our world through principles of Yin/Yang Theory and how to use both Western and Eastern medical approaches synergistically. By the completion of this course, students will have an understanding of how to apply their newly acquired knowledge to one’s medical practice and/or personal life.

Discovering Qi Phenomena (2 hrs)

An explanation of holistic and symptomatic medical approaches will be explored. Students experience and learn about such phenomena as Qi and its manifestations and use in medical practice. Students will leave with a concrete understanding of how to make simple, everyday choices to help them build their Qi. Emphasis will be given to the application of these principles personally as well as with patients in a medical practice.
